Shoot for the Stars - Annual WWA Talent Show
The annual WWA Talent Show is scheduled for March 3 (rehearsal night) and 4 (show night)!
Planning is underway, and we would love your help if you're interested. Contact Matt Duncan at firstname.lastname@example.org with questions.
This yearʼs talent show will be different than shows in past years. The actual talent show night will be a showcase of the best talent acts. The best talent acts will be chosen through the audition process. At the talent show auditions, anyone who signs up will get a chance to perform. Be sure to sign up online on the sign-up genius and bring your audition form to the auditions. The audition performances will last around one and a half minutes each. The judges, made up of talent show volunteers, will score each act. At the end of the night, the judges will identify the top 30 acts. These 30 acts will then perform at the Talent Show. Since not all of the acts will get to perform at the talent show, we want to make the audition special for them. We invite classmates, friends, and families to attend the audition. Also, students who audition, but are not chosen to perform in the talent show, are still welcome to participate in the talent show finale performance. We are excited to see all of the special talents that Woodrow students have to offer.
Here are the key dates to keep in mind:
February 11: Deadline to sign up for Talent Show auditions
February 18: Talent Show Auditions in Gym starting at 4 pm.
March 3: Talent Show rehearsal
March 4: 2015 Talent Show

WWA Spring Community Event!
The WWA PTO is happy to report that we'll once again be partnering with the Wright Cause Benevolence Committee this year for the Spring Community Event!
There will be three components to the day:
1. Wright Cause Walk, to promote awareness and funds for the Wright Cause Benevolence Fund - please click here (http://thewrightcause.com/) for much more info about this amazing and meaningful program.
2. ARC Truck Fundraiser, to raise the remaining funds needed to pay for all the amazing services PTO provides for our teachers and students.
3. Tons of fun for students and families - jumpy castle, dunk tank, food trucks, arts and crafts, and more!
SAVE THE DATE!
Saturday, May 2
10am - 3pm
PTO is super excited to partner with ARC to bring a fabulous, no-cost fundraiser to WWA. All donations are tax deductible and anyone can donate. Please note the following:
-No large furniture or appliances will be collected - all items must be small enough so they can be lifted by one adult by themselves.
-No TVs or Computer Monitors
-No Mattresses or Box Springs
-No Building or Home Improvement Items
We know that May is a long way off, so we have come up with a solution so that you don't have to store your unwanted treasures for 5 months. Between now and the end of March, we will be collecting your treasures on a monthly basis. ARC will pick them up, tally our proceeds and save the funds for a large check after the May Main Event. The ARC truck will also be parked at school during the big event in May, and for a few days before or after.
Thank you to everyone who dropped off items on January 23 - you brought in 502 bags, which equals $502! We really appreciate your support! The next drop off date will be Friday, February 27. Please bring your treasures during drop-off or pick-up.
-Bags should be roughly the size of a grocery store paper or plastic bag - NOT large trash bags.
-We will be paid $1/bag collected
if you have questions or comments, please email Molly (email@example.com) or Sarah (firstname.lastname@example.org).
