Why should I get involved?

Why not? Being involved with PTO will allow you to:

  • Find fun ways to fulfill your required volunteer hours.
  • Stay in the loop about what's going on at school — both inside the classroom and out.
  • Gain a greater understanding of educational issues impacting us here at WWA.
  • Vote on how PTO-raised funds are allocated and speak up about issues affecting your child.
  • Meet fun and interesting new parents.

Quaker Steak and Lube Community Night
Join us and all your WWA friends on Thursday, Sept 25, for the next Woodrow Wilson Community Night! Enjoy some delicious food at Quaker, Steak and Lube anytime between 4 pm and 8 pm, and they will give a percentage of the proceeds back to WWA! You can print this flier and bring it with you, or make sure to let your server know you're there to support WWA.

RAVE (Reading and Volunteering in Education)
Click on the Donate button above to support your child of choice in our annual Reading And Volunteering in Education fundraiser (previously called REACH Week). For much more information about our annual fall fundraiser, click on the "Fall Fundraiser" link on the left hand side of the page.

Shop with Scrip, and support WWA!
What is Scrip? You pay face value for the gift card, and the retailer gives a percentage of that card back to the school. There are over 5,000 retailers you can get gift cards from. You can order via www.shopwithscrip.com or email Lisa Grimsley (lisaygrimsley@gmail.com) or Robyn Hill (rchill16@gmail.com) with your order and we will deliver those cards to your child's Thursday folder.

You can also participate in the monthly grocery order in which you get gift cards delivered to you on a monthly basis. Please support our school by participating in one of these great programs!

Smart is Cool!
Dom Testa, of the Dom and Jane morning show on Mix 100 is coming to WWA on Wednesday, Sept 24, at 7 pm. Dom will be talking about his new book, Smart is Cool, and he'll be giving a lively and educational presentation. All parents are welcome, but please note that this evening is geared toward Middle School parents, and is also appropriate for upper elementary parents. 4th, 5th, and Middle School students are also welcome to attend.

Spirit Gear Available for Cash and Carry
We have Spirit Gear T-Shirts available for Cash and Carry in the front office. Our display case has all the options available at this time. We have Ultra Cotton Adult and Youth T-shirts and Youth Cool Dri with SPF 50 T-Shirts available. We also have a small selection full zip and pull over hoodies for adults and youth.

Come see us out front of the school on Thursday before Spirit day when we are selling Spirit Gear. If we don't have what you want, we can order it.

Logging your hours in PTO Manager
When you go to log your hours in, here is the procedure:


1. Log into PTO Manager
2. Go to "Events" Tab.
3. Find the event you volunteered for
4. Click on the link to "Volunteer for Event"
5. Put your name in as you have it when you created your account
6. Select the date of the event
7. Add in how many hours you volunteered. Half an hour should be entered as 0.5, and 1 1/2 hours should be entered as 1.5, etc.
8. Hit the save button at the bottom.
Once you have done this, you will be able to go into My Hours and see the hours that you have put in. If something is not working when you put your hours in, please let us know and we will get it fixed.

PTO Meeting Information
PTO General Meetings are held on the third Thursday of every month at 6:30 p.m. in the WWA Media Center. Childcare is provided at meeting free of charge. Minutes for the meetings can be found in the folders to the right.

Don't forget to keep clipping BoxTops for Education labels and Campbell's and Tyson product labels. These can all be turned in to earn dollars and points for our school! We are also participating in the My Coke Rewards program. Follow the links below for more information on how these programs work and what products you can buy to help support WWA.

Shop at Target?
Do you shop at Target? If you have a Red Card, you can sign up to support WWA, and for every purchase you make, Target will donate 1% back to our school, with no extra cost to you. Join the 57 people who have already signed up to support WWA!




My Coke Rewards
Drink coke products, enter your coke rewards number, donate your points to the school. http://www.mycokerewards.com/ The My Coke Rewards for Schools program enables our community to support all the ways kids play and make great things happen for our school. You can donate My Coke Rewards points to Woodrow Wilson and help us get things like athletic equipment, classroom supplies, learning aids and more.




MILK CAPS for MOOOLA
A program sponsored by Longmont Dairy that helps students earn money for their school and students. Longmont Dairy donates 5¢ for every milk cap. Bring your milk caps to school and put them into the collection box located near the TerraCycle collection box. More info here.

All of these ongoing fundraisers are great ways to support our wonderful school without spending any extra money or valuable time.
