PTO Webpage Community

Why should I get involved?

Why not? Being involved with PTO will allow you to:

  • Find fun ways to fulfill your required volunteer hours.
  • Stay in the loop about what's going on at school — both inside the classroom and out.
  • Gain a greater understanding of educational issues impacting us here at WWA.
  • Vote on how PTO-raised funds are allocated and speak up about issues affecting your child.
  • Meet fun and interesting new parents.

Newsletter links not working
We currently have a help desk ticket in on the links not working.  In the mean time, you can find the newsletter and the BoE editorial that I did on the right side of this page under PTO Newsletters.  They are the first 2 documents there.

I will send out a note as soon as we get notification that the problem has been fixed.

Thanks,
Louisa Cocaign

Open PTO Positions for 2014-2015
We are still searching for a President and a Scrip Treasurer.  If this sounds like something that you would enjoy doing, please contact Linda Hensler at lalahensler@yahoo.com or Joy Watson at joy@watsonit.com.

The rest of the PTO positions have all been filled with wonderful, energetic and fun people.  We just need a couple more to fill out the entire PTO Executive board.  The President will have the support of the entire group of Execs as well as training and support from Louisa.  People skills, good organization and a willingness to think outside the box are needed.  There are processes in place to make this position a lot easier than in years past, and there's a wonderful support system available.

The Scrip Treasurer will be in charge of entering all the scrip cards ordered into the spreadsheet and coordinating with the other treasurer for sales.  They will be in charge of deposits and check writing as well as reconcilation.  There is a quarterly audit that they will need to prepare documents for.  The 2 scrip treasurers work as a team and support each other.

If these positions sound like something you would be interested in, let us know.  The search will continue until these positions are filled.

Buffalo Wild Wings - April 21st
We are going to be going to Buffalo Wild Wings for our April Community Night.  Come join us for some fun trivia on the NTN, wings and $ 1.99 kid's meals.  We get a portion of the proceeds ALL DAY for ALL sales!  We thought it would be a great kick off for Staff Appreciation week as well.  April 21st is a Monday, and all kid's meals are $ 1.99.  We won't have live trivia to compete with, so we should have the entire restaurant to ourselves.  Just tell them you are coming in from Woodrow Wilson, and we will get credit.  Or you can bring the attached flyer as well.

Come out and have some fun with us!  I will be there for lunch AND Dinner, so I hope to see you there.

Thanks,
Louisa Cocaign

Ms. Nielsen's Class!

Way to go class!

We get 10 cents for every one you bring in.  This money goes to fund the classrooms and the funds we provide for the teachers, so keep them coming!  Everyone is doing a wonderful job collecting them.

Spring Community Event
Our Spring Community Event will be held on May 3 - it will be a fun filled day featuring the Helicopter Ball Drop and the Wright Cause Walk, along with other activities and delicious food! What is a Helicopter Golf Ball Drop? Think a standard raffle…. you buy a ticket that has your number on it. When your number gets drawn out of a fishbowl, you win something. For our event a helicopter takes all the numbered entries in the form of golf balls, straight up over your head and drops thousands of them out at a time over a target zone. The ball closest to the flag wins a GRAND PRIZE. The money raised from this event will benefit our growing technology program, budding music and theater program, and student and teacher development.

Plus the remaining balls will have a chance to win other great prizes. We are currently collecting prizes for this event. Prizes can be (but not limited to): Gift Certificates, Products, Money, Services, Attraction Passes, Jewelry, Home Furnishings, Timeshares, Ski Passes…..The sky is the Limit. As a donor, you will receive publicity prior to and during the event which will be viewed by every attendee. All donations are tax deductible. If you have a prize that you would like to donate or are interested in canvasing the local business for donations please contact Heather Baldwin at mamabaldy@yahoo.com or 720-289-6409.

At this time we are looking for vendors to be at the Spring Community Event . If you or somebody that you know would like to sell merchandise (ie home goods, beauty items, childrens games/activities, potted plants/flowers, crafts) or represent a business please contact Gretchen at 316-519-4524 or klassysuze@hotmail.com for more information.

To find out more about this exciting event or great volunteer opportunities please contact Heather Baldwin. Thank you for your support at WWA! You help make it the WONDERFUL place that it is!   You can also find more information on the Spring Community Event Fusion Page Here.
